Senior Estimator

Senior Estimator – $120k – $140k
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze costs and prepare accurate estimates for various construction projects. This role requires expertise in negotiation, cost control, and pricing strategies, as well as proficiency in industry-standard software such as Bluebeam. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Federal experience is a must.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Utilize software tools to create comprehensive estimates and maintain organized records.
- Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Provide insights on cost control measures and pricing strategies to enhance project profitability.
- Review contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Attend Pre-Bid Site Visits
- Review subcontractor quotes to determine they meet Plans and Specifications
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and site visits to assess project requirements and potential challenges.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
- Must have estimating and/or project management experience for Federal, Military, State and Local Government projects
- Solid negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in cost control practices and pricing methodologies within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with contracts related to construction projects is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.

We are a Washington State-based federal construction company specializing in roofing and general construction services for federal government, local government, school districts, and private industrial clients nationwide.
**Federal Experience Required**
Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to manage billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions for our federal and commercial construction projects.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience with federal government billing procedures and compliance requirements
- Understanding of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) billing requirements
- Experience with prevailing wage certified payroll and invoicing
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate invoices for federal, state, and commercial construction projects
- Manage accounts receivable aging and collection activities
- Process progress billings, retainage tracking, and change orders
- Ensure compliance with federal billing requirements and contract terms
- Reconcile contractor payments and maintain detailed AR records
- Coordinate with project managers regarding billing schedules and payment applications
- Generate and distribute monthly AR reports and aging summaries

Required Skills & Experience:

Estimator
Continental United States
Pacific Tech Construction, a Kelso, WA based construction company is looking for an individual with Construction Estimating experience to join our estimating department for federal, state, county, municipal, and private construction projects. The successful applicant will be able to fulfill the following roles & responsibilities and will meet or exceed the qualifications & experience requirements listed below. Compensation and benefits will depend upon experience and qualifications.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Seek and identify potential construction projects
- Review bid documents and determine qualifications
- Review specifications and determine requirements for all divisions
- Procure subcontractor support through various methods and receive quotes
- Review subcontractor quotes to determine they meet Plans and Specifications
- Prepare estimate using various methods and software
- Prepare project takeoff quantities for all trade divisions
- Prepare project schedules for proposals using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
- Determine General Conditions for projects
- Prepare project descriptions and narratives for submission with bid proposals
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have estimating experience as well as experience creating bid proposals for federal, military, state and local government projects
- Experience managing multiple solicitations/bids simultaneously
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Motivated, Self-Sufficient, requiring little to no supervision
- Experience and proficiency with the MS Office Suite and PDF editing software (Acrobat, Nuance, etc.) and scheduling programs such as MS Project and Primavera P6.
